I am an energetic Chief Communications Officer, driven by a contagious passion for empowering teams and building brands through thoughtful storytelling and data-driven brand marketing and communications strategies. As a SABRE and Shorty award-winning executive, I've crafted transformative programs that shape compelling narratives, reposition brands for growth, and champion thought leadership through strategic activations and breakthrough messaging.

I firmly believe that Communications leaders belong in the boardroom and the C-suite. Throughout my career, I've reported directly to two CEOs and four CMOs, which has allowed me to participate in critical decision-making and become a trusted advisor to executive teams and board members.

As a passionate leader, I've built world-class teams of all sizes that I pour my heart and soul into. Building and leading high-impact, close-knit communications teams is what gets me up in the morning. We are known as "TeamGSD" because we get sh*t done—and we don't just GSD, but we do it well. We consistently demonstrate an outsized impact on our organizations.

I excel in navigating organizations through rapid growth, transitions, and crises by quickly scaling functions, shaping culture, and driving engagement using data-informed strategies. I've been on either side of 8 acquisitions and managed my organizations through numerous critical crises. I know how to engage the right stakeholders at the right time with the message they need to hear, in the way they need to hear it—whether they are influencers, employees, investors, or customers. Above all else, I maintain high standards for both myself and my team.

I'm a culture-builder and empathetic leader who strives to make a profound impact in every organization I work with. Recently, I've been named a LinkedIn Top Communications Voice and received over 3 million impressions on my LinkedIn content in the first 6 months of 2024, where I share my perspectives on leadership, communications, neurodiversity, and more. I am also an advisor to multiple cybersecurity startups.

In addition to deep expertise in corporate marketing, communications, and brand, I have specific and deep expertise in a number of key areas:

Cybersecurity

My 15-year career in cybersecurity spans just about every type of security company from large public companies to brand-new upstarts, mid- and late-stage startup ventures, and PE-backed firms. I’ve seen it all when it comes to the world of cybersecurity (and was one of the first people to talk about zero trust before that was popular).​

Branding and rebranding

I’ve led the creation of three new brands in the B2B tech space and played pivotal roles in the rebranding efforts of multiple others. Brand marketing is my passion, and it shows.

M&A and integrations

I’ve been through 8 mergers and acquisitions and led communications on both sides—as the acquiring entity and as the target. I’ve spun out companies and integrated others. I've united a portfolio of tech brands under one umbrella and created a new brand for them. I’ve written the playbook and consistently guided through these nuanced integrations with strategic change management and communications.

Analyst relations

The intricate and highly strategic realm of AR might seem complex to many, but it’s my forte. With over a decade of AR experience, strong ties with industry analysts, and a profound grasp of how to leverage the analyst and influencer community to produce meaningful ROI, I build powerhouse AR programs.

Crisis comms

Serving as the head of communications for multiple notorious victims of significant breaches (Pulse Secure, Ivanti, MobileIron), I’ve steered damage control efforts at the highest levels for these—and other crises throughout my career, including work with US federal and international agencies.
